Investment Dictionary - Home equity line of credit

Similar to a home equity loan, except instead of receiving cash for the equity, the owner receives a line of credit with the institution. The owner can then write checks up to the amount of the credit. Once the balance is paid down, or paid off, the credit can be reused.
